DAY 1

International Flight, Los Angeles to
Melbourne

This Melbourne, Great Barrier Reef & Sydney vacation starts in Melbourne, where a love of art, food, and culture prevails. Your international flight will cross the International Dateline, meaning you’ll be one day ahead in Australia!

DAYS 2 – 5

MELBOURNE – A TREASURE AROUND
EVERY CORNER

After your flight arrives into Melbourne, a private car transfer will meet you at the airport to take you to your hotel. You’ll stay 3 nights in a top-rated hotel at the heart of Melbourne Central Business District (where all the action happens!)

Melbourne is famous for its hidden central laneways, reminiscent of European towns with secret shops and restaurants at every corner. On your second day in Melbourne you’ll discover these hidden gems on an included walking tour of local hot spots, with samples of from honey shops, coffee stands, and dumpling houses for a taste of the local food scene.

Your next day in Melbourne includes a fabulous guided day trip touring Phillip Island, a slice of coastal paradise and wildlife encounters. Meet koalas and kangaroos at Moonlit Sanctuary Conservation Park before settling into an exclusive spot to watch the fairy penguins return home to shore from the ocean.

Your last day in Melbourne is free to explore the city’s stunning range of restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques, art galleries, and swanky spots for all tastes. You may want to take a road trip adventure on the Great Ocean Road, or visit the neighboring Mornington Peninsula for a day of decadent wineries and gastronomical delights.

DAYS 5 – 8

CAIRNS – GATEWAY TO THE GREAT BARRIER REEF

After your time in Melbourne you’ll head to the one and only Great Barrier Reef! You’ll board a domestic flight from Melbourne to Cairns, the gateway city to the Great Barrier Reef.

A shuttle transfer will meet you at the airport and take you to your top-rated, centrally located hotel, where you’ll enjoy 3 nights basking in the laid-back atmosphere of this tropical town.

The next day you’ll board a luxury catamaran and sail to the Great Barrier Reef, where a fun day of snorkeling spectacular reef sites awaits. Dip your toes into the warm waters of the Coral Sea and dive into the underwater world of unique coral gardens and colorful tropical fish.

Your third day in Cairns will take you into the neighboring World Heritage-listed rainforest and visit the Kuranda Rainforestation and Village. Hop aboard the Kuranda Scenic Railway for a train journey through the lush tropical gardens and rainforest cliffs to Kuranda Village, where you can explore the vibrant markets brimming with local artisan crafts and stunning souvenirs. Get an up close look of the rainforest at Rainforestation Nature Park and learn about the tropical fruits, ancient rainforest plants and native wildlife of this exotic environment. Return to Cairns on the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway, a gondola gliding above the lush rainforest canopies and thundering waterfalls.

DAYS 8 – 11

SYDNEY – crowning jewel of the East Coast

Say goodbye to Australia’s tropics and say hello to its crowning jewel of the East Coast – Sydney. Your domestic flight will take you from Cairns to Sydney, where a private car transfer awaits to take you to your 4-star hotel in the heart of the city. Spend 3 nights in Sydney, the perfect amount of time to see why this city is one of the world’s top-rated travel destinations.

The day after your arrival will be spent exploring Sydney’s highlights. Enjoy a tour of the Opera House and see the city sights with an included 2-day Sydney Harbour Cruise Pass, touring the major landmarks along the extensive harbor. Start your cruise from Circular Quay or Darling Harbour and sail past Taronga Zoo, Shark Island, Watsons Bay, and Manly. Hop off at your favorite stops and explore these rich inner districts of Sydney.

Your last day in Sydney is free to do as you wish. You may like to explore the nearby Blue Mountains, a unique World Heritage Region of temperate rainforest and sandstone escarpments with stunning vistas and invigorating hiking trails. Or take it easy with a day trip to the Hunter Valley Wine Region, brimming with over 150 wineries that specialize in delicious food and exquisite wines.

DAY 11

International Flight, Sydney to Los Angeles

After your unforgettable adventure in Australia, you’ll head back home on an international flight from Sydney. A private car transfer will take you from your hotel to the airport, where you can take time to reminisce on your favorite memories of your Australia vacation.
